Overview
This project focuses on transforming ChatGPT from a single-user platform into a collaborative environment for multiple users. By integrating multi-user support, rich media tools, and enhanced contextual awareness, the redesigned ChatGPT is optimized for real-time collaboration in team settings
Problem Statement
In a world increasingly dependent on remote communication and collaboration, traditional AI systems like ChatGPT often limit interactions to single-user conversations. This redesign aims to break those barriers by supporting group-based discussions and enhancing decision-making processes
Approach
I began by conducting user research to understand collaboration challenges, followed by wireframing and prototyping the new multi-user interface. The design process incorporated principles from communication theory, situational cognition, and distributed cognition, ensuring the AI could handle complex, multi-user conversations effectively
Challenges and Solutions
One challenge was managing simultaneous inputs from multiple users without causing confusion. This was solved by developing a real-time conversation tracker that dynamically updates the group’s discussion context.
This redesign not only enhances collaboration but also sets a new standard for AI tools used in team environments.
